W · The West Gallery
The West Gallery opens onto the courtyard beneath an old tree, its sandstone walls and steel-framed windows shaped over decades.
Inside, a quiet hang of framed works and small objects greets you — the West is favoured for solo shows, works on paper and the more private corners of an artist's practice. The threshold between gallery and garden is deliberately soft: a few steps and you are back among the tables, lanterns and trees of the courtyard.
Many visitors begin their afternoon here — a glance at the latest hang, then on through to the North Gallery or out to the Tea Garden for a slow pot of something warm.
